Purchasing, Sales and Operations
For 60 years we’ve been bending metal and creating high quality parts. Our customers see IES as a valued partner and rely on us for their most difficult projects. You can’t say that without a great team. Most of our die makers and metal fabricators have been with us for years. Our ISO audit team hasn’t missed a beat yet.
Our leadership is made up of experts in the industry and committed to continuous improvement. They are also not above showing up at your plant to pick up a plan or drop off a hot part.
Meet our leadership team-
Mike has been with IES for more than 30 years, starting his career working with IES’ founder Dave Laux, who also happened to be his dad. From sweeping the floors to running the presses as he learned the business Mike has developed a deep understanding of shop operations as well as how to apply them to making parts and assemblies in the best way possible. Mike is responsible for all material purchasing and is well known in the West Michigan area as a collaborative buyer. Got a sales opportunity – Mike is always eager to sit down with you as well to see how IES can help.
A die-hard Michigan State fan, Kyle manages the technical side of manufacturing at IES. He is adept at quality system management and is responsible for IES’ ISO compliance and ongoing registration. Using our CMM, check fixtures as well as additional evaluation methods, Kyle quickly identifies the nature of specific variances in IES’ manufacturing process. He then works with our operators and tool room personnel to make the necessary adjustments (equipment, tooling and process) that ensure compliance to specific print and customer requirements. Kyle is particularly good at understanding design for manufacturability that helps our customers to reduce cost both up front and ongoing.
Mike is a sales and solution-creating veteran who has worked with diverse manufacturing companies that range from highly engineered to commodity-type products. That diversity allows him to bring a unique perspective to IES’ customers in the form of a deep understanding of different materials and production methods that provide the best fit for a specific need. Many times this breadth of knowledge results in tapping into Mike’s deep professional network to make a matchmaking introduction with a more suitable vendor for the customer requirement. Mike is clearly focused on understanding customers’ pressure points and how to eliminate them and is really good at crafting unique solutions for our customers. Feel free to challenge Mike with a part or process issue that you are dealing with.
